This deeply delicious blend contains a rare and exciting Black Tea, grown at over 6000 ft in the Himalayan mountain region of India. Bordering nearby Nepal, this remote region also bears its name, Kumaon.
Planted nearly 200 years ago by British tea companies, these trees were later mostly abandoned dur to the challenges of transporting the tea to market. The trees remained for mainly local use, until in more recent years, when distribution became more feasible and the region was believed to benefit from further economic resources, commercial picking began again for the worldwide decerning tea drinker.
We particularly like this tea, not only for its distinct flavor but also due to the fact that the tea farmers are paid 5 to 10 times more for harvesting this rarer tea.
Our blend is paired with organic Lemon Verbena and Orange Peel to add subtle citrus notes to this superb tea.
